In 2014 the Tulane Green Wave returned to play football outdoors and on the Tulane campus at Yulman Stadium. From 1926 until 1974 the Green Wave played at Tulane Stadium, located on the campus of Tulane University. When the Louisiana Superdome opened in 1975 the Green Wave moved here leading to the eventual demolition of Tulane Stadium in 1979.

In 2011 the university announced plans to construct a new stadium on campus. Construction of the 30,000 seat stadium, built near the site of Tulane Stadium, began in January 2013. The $75 million stadium features a single tier grandstand and has 4,500 club seats and two party decks. It is named after Richard Yulman, who donated $15 million towards construction. The field is named after New Orleans businessman and New Orleans Saints (NFL) owner Tom Benson who donated $7.5 million. The Tulane Green Wave played their first game at Yulman Stadium on September 6, 2014.
