Home of the Fresno State Bulldogs, Bulldog Stadium has been the home of the football program for over three decades. In the late 1970s a new stadium was needed for the football team. Local residents helped raise $7 million for construction of a new stadium and by 1980 it was built. Opening on November 15, 1980, the Bulldogs battled Montana State in the first game at the stadium.

Nearly ten years later as fan support for the team continued to increase, funds were allocated for an addition to the stadium. In 1991, nearly 10,000 seats were added in the north and south endzones. This expansion also included 22 luxury suites. Today Bulldog Stadium has a seating capacity of just under 41,000. Fans still come out to cheer on their Bulldog team.
