The Las Vegas Raiders will be without wide receiver Davante Adams and defensive lineman Maxx Crosby, two of their best players, against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday due to injuries, head coach Antonio Pierce announced on Friday.
Adams suffered a hamstring injury on Thursday during practice, with Pierce saying that he will be largely day-to-day. Crosby is dealing with a high ankle sprain, and missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday with the injury.
Tight end Michael Mayer will also be out due to personal reasons.
Sunday will mark the first game that Crosby has missed in his career, having played 86 straight games since being drafted by the Raiders in 2019. Crosby has established himself as a key piece of the Raiders defense, with three sacks and five tackles for loss so far this season.
Adams, meanwhile, has 18 receptions for 209 yards and a touchdown so far this season.
In Friday's conference, Pierce said that he didn't have a timeline for either player, beyond missing Sunday's game.
"You’ve got to give those guys week-to-week — really, day-to-day. You never know how they respond. They’ve been doing this a long time in their career," Pierce said.
