Located in Reno, Nevada, fans attending games at Mackay Stadium have some of the best views of the gridiron and surrounding areas of any stadium in the Mountain West Conference. In the early to mid 1960s discussion began on the possibility of a new stadium being built for the Nevada Wolf Pack football team. A new stadium was built and completed by 1965. Named after Clarence Mackay, the stadium originally had a seating capacity of 7,500.

The Wolf Pack made their debut at the stadium on October 1, 1966 with a victory over UC Santa Barbara. Over the years, the stadium has seen several expansions. In order to bring the stadium up to Division 1A standards, $6.5 million was spent upgrading it in the 1990s. The stadium’s capacity was increased to just over 31,000, 48 luxury suites were built on the west side, and the upper deck and 12 luxury suites were added on the east side of Mackay Stadium. Fieldturf replaced the Astro Turf playing surface before the 2000 season. In 2016 a new stadium club, luxury seating and chairback seating was added in several sections to improve the overall gameday experience at the stadium. The replacement of some bleachers with chairback seats decreased the seating capacity to 30,000. Other than watching the Wolf Pack football team, fans attending games at Mackay Stadium receive excellent views of the surrounding Reno landscape.
